Summary

We are looking to hire a project estimator that will work closely with the team to assemble accurate cost estimates, well-organized proposals, and clearly identified scopes of work in a timely manner. It is also the responsibility of the estimator to represent the company in attending occasional meetings within the company, suppliers and customers.

A successful candidate will have a high level of attention to detail, the ability to work with others, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to create forecasts based on financial data.

Roles and Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

  • A comprehensive understanding of the scope of work and customer requirements to develop an accurate estimate in line with the desired project outcome
  •  Prepare cost estimates considering the following


 

              - Thorough review of bid documents

               - Complete project take-offs and estimates with our estimating software

              - Pricing from subcontractors and suppliers

               - Accurate identification of labor requirements in accordance with project documentation

               - Within designated time frame

  •  Review cost estimates with Management
  •  Help prepare detailed scope of work for Customer, Project Manager and Foreman
  •  Ensure material costs are consistently up to date in estimating software

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Proven 3-year experience as an estimator or similar position
  •  Review and interpret construction documents. Must have experience reading & understand construction drawings (especially electrical, fire alarm, ARCS, CCTV, low voltage)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while working on multiple projects at same time
  •  Excellent time management skills and prioritization of tasks to meet deadlines
  • Analytical mind-set with strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in software and technology especially, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
