Reports to: Project Manager

Job Summary

Professionally and efficiently perform electrical work on residential, commercial and industrial locations for Tri-County Electric. Must possess solid skills in troubleshooting and a good knowledge of proper safety procedures with an ability to work well alone or on a team.

General

  • Adopt the Tri-County Electric commitment of providing the very best electrical services to residential, commercial and industrial customers throughout Fairfield, Litchfield and New Haven Counties while always remaining professional
  • Comply with Tri-County Electric's procedures, policies and regulations relevant to your role
  • Comply with any specific responsibilities necessary for your role as outlined by your manager to ensure you keep up to date with developments in these areas.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as individually notified, either through your objectives or as directed by your manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned:

  • Efficiently install electrical components on a daily basis and always ensure they are working properly and efficiently; perform troubleshooting to identify problems, and then implement repair and replacement solutions to remedy the issue
  • Apply reason and logic to solve problems and think through setup instrumentation projects as well as manage complex equipment systems; use judgement to use the correct equipment, materials, or voltage in every situation
  • Work alongside non-licensed personnel to ensure they are on track and they are adequately prepared to become licensed electricians; oversee the work of lower electrical employees
  • Uses a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment
  • Lays out, Installs and maintains various types of motors, lighting fixtures, generators, circuit breakers, and transformers as well as install and monitor performance of installed electrical equipment for hazards, adjustments, or replacement
  • Interprets blueprints; works from sketches or verbal instructions
  • Mounts motors, transformers, and lighting fixtures into position and completes circuits according to diagram specifications
  • Ability to use appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment to repair, install, replace, and test electrical circuits, equipment and appliances

Education and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; at least 4 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Possession of a current Connecticut Journeyman Electrician's License
  • Possession of a clean, valid driver's license
  • Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check and submit to random drug testing
  • Experience reading mechanical and electrical blueprints

Skills and Abilities

  • Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of job
  • Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function
  • Ability to accurately learn and use the T-Sheets phone app for logging of job location, work performed, and hours worked
